He used to serve as the dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals of the IBM Research Institute at the US headquarters, the chief scientist of IBM Watson Group and an outstanding engineer of IBM leading the formulation of the global technology strategy and commercialization of the IBM artificial intelligence team. After returning to China to join JD.com, Dr. Zhou was responsible for coordinating and leading JD Group’s technological innovation, strategic planning, product creation, application implementation and artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things and other business departments. Based on his outstanding contributions to AI technological innovation and industrial landing, Dr. Zhou won the “Wu Wenjun Outstanding Contribution Award for Artificial Intelligence” (which represents the highest award in China’s intelligent science field) in 2021.
