Prof. Lyu Zhi’s wish is to integrate research and practice to provide practical solutions for natural conservation. Her work includesbasic research and conservation practices for flagship species such as pandas, snow leopards, brown bears, and procapra przewalskii, practices and methods of community protection, the disclosure of natural conservation information and the participation of citizen scientists, and she participates in the discussion of relevant policies and laws. She has successively been honored “China’s 10 Outstanding Young Persons”, “Outstanding Contribution Award for National Environmental Protection”, “Science Award for Distinguished Young Scholars”, “Outstanding Female Scientist Award”, “First Prize of National Science and Technology Library”, “First Prize of Excellent Books of the 4th China University Press Publication”, and the 3rd session’s “Social Service Award” of China Women’s Association for Science and Technology. In 2016, she was awarded the “Global Biodiversity Hotspot Heroes”.
